This policy explains what data Najah Chemist Academy collects when you use the Academy, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep this plain — no legalese.
Najah Chemist is a skincare manufacturer based in Kingston, Jamaica. The Academy is an online learning platform operated by Najah Chemist. Contact: start@najahchemist.com or WhatsApp +1 876-885-1099.
Account information
When you create a Firebase account to access the Academy, we store your email address and Firebase user ID (UID). Your display name is stored if you provide one. This is needed to authenticate you and link your enrolment record to your login.
We require email verification before linking your account to any paid access. This prevents unauthorised claims.
Enrolment and payment data
When you pay via Fygaro or bank transfer, we record: email address, payment amount, currency, timestamp, and the Fygaro transaction reference (if provided). We store a short excerpt of the raw webhook payload for audit purposes (capped at 500 characters).
We do not store card numbers, bank details, or any full payment credentials. Card processing is handled by Fygaro; bank transfers are manually verified.
Learning progress
As you work through the course, we store: which lessons you have completed, which module tests you have passed, which badges you have earned, which assignments you have marked done, and your current lesson position. This data is used to show your progress on the dashboard, gate access to locked content, and award your certificate.
Tutor questions
Every question you send to the AI tutor is logged with: your Firebase UID, the lesson ID, the question text (up to 500 characters), and a timestamp. We log these to monitor usage, enforce daily rate limits, detect misuse, and improve the tutor over time. Tutor logs are only accessible to Najah Chemist administrators — they are never visible to other students.
Waitlist sign-ups
If you join the waitlist for a coming-soon program, we store your email address and the program you requested. We use this only to notify you when that program launches. We do not share this list.
Payment hook rejections
If a payment notification reaches us with an unexpected amount (e.g. a misconfigured Fygaro button), we log the email, amount, currency, and reason to our payment log for investigation. This helps us catch configuration errors.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
We keep your student record (progress, badges, enrolment status) for as long as your account exists. Payment log entries are kept indefinitely for financial audit purposes. Tutor logs are kept for 12 months. Waitlist entries are deleted once you have been notified and the program launches, or upon request.
Lesson text fragments are served as static files on our web server. They are not individually authenticated at the file level — access control is enforced at the lesson page level (requires login and paid access). If you share a direct link to a content file, another person could read it. We accept this trade-off for text content; any video material will be served through authenticated links only.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, contact us at start@najahchemist.com or WhatsApp +1 876-885-1099. We will respond within 14 days. Note that payment log entries may be retained for legal/financial reasons even after account deletion.
We use Firebase Authentication, which stores a session token in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and notify enrolled students by email.
